Kostina

Birth advocate, wellness facilitator, and speaker — helping women reconnect mind, body, and spirit through the wisdom of the feminine.

Hear your own knowing over your own fear.

I'm also the founder of a nature-led community that started as one gathering and has grown into thousands of people, season after season.

WHO I AM

A woman who built
wisdom from fire.

I was born in Klaipėda, Lithuania, to a Vietnamese mother and a Russian father, and I've spent most of my life being too much for the rooms I was placed in — too restless, too questioning, too unwilling to accept that the adults around me had the whole truth just because they said so with confidence.

That restlessness followed me into an early marriage that became an abusive one. I stayed longer than I should have, because leaving felt more frightening than staying — until the fear of staying finally won out, and I left. Rebuilding myself afterward is the real root of everything on this page. I'd always had some awareness of my own body, but it was during my second pregnancy that I went all in — teaching myself everything the maternity system never offered to explain, and learning, eventually, to give birth at home on my own terms, more than once.

The brain will always find a reason to talk you out of what you already feel is true. This work is learning to hear your own knowing — over your own fear.
— Aleksandra Kostina

A few years ago I started a single circle — a handful of women meeting to talk honestly, without performing for each other. I didn't plan for it to become anything more than that. It grew into a nature-led community that now gathers by the thousands through the seasons.

That circle is only the most recent thread in a much older pattern. I started my first venture at fourteen — teaching English, then selling handmade crafts — and it never really stopped: a school I built and led as director, an art studio, property, translation, building, festivals and retreats, close to ten ventures in total, most of them built through trial and error, several of them failures. I was never afraid to fail, because every failure was a lesson, and every lesson raised me higher.

What all of it has led me to, eventually, is the work I actually care about: the forgotten parts of a woman's body, the deep wisdom that goes undervalued in a world obsessed with career and ambition. Women don't need fixing. They need reminding.

I also study numerology, Vedic astrology, the Matrix of Destiny, breathwork, and the sacred feminine — not because any of it is trendy, but because I've tested it against my own life, more than once, and found it held up. All of it points to the same thing: the deeper connection between mind, body, spirit, and the feminine that most of us are never taught to trust.

THE MISSION

Generations of women
knew this in their bodies.

Then we were taught to forget.

For centuries, women's knowledge about birth, the body, and life's cycles was held and passed between women. In a few generations, most of it was taken — replaced by systems that taught women to doubt their own instincts instead of trusting them.

Wisdom of Empowerment exists to pass that knowledge back — through birth, motherhood, money, and body; through circles, retreats, and the work still to come.

Mau a holistic birth
and postnatal centre

Pronounced "MAA-ooh" — Vietnamese for Mother, rooted in Đạo Mẫu, the UNESCO-recognised Mother Goddess tradition.

THE VISION

In almost every traditional culture across human history, there is a recognised period after birth where the new mother is held, nourished, and supported. In Ayurvedic tradition, this is forty-two days. In Chinese tradition, it is called Zuo Yuezi — sitting the month. In Mexican tradition, la cuarentena. Cultures that share nothing else, share this: a new mother needs to be held.

In the modern Western world, this has almost entirely disappeared. Mau is my answer to that gap.

  • Holistic birth preparation — evidence-based, body-centred, informed. Full education for both parents, not a one-off class.

  • Qualified midwifery support — professional, compassionate care working alongside a woman's own choices, with no default medical intervention.

  • 42-day postnatal care — nourishment, rest, community, and the space to transition into motherhood without being abandoned by the system.

  • Accessible and affordable — Every woman who gives birth deserves to be held.

The power was never taken from your body — only from your awareness of it. And awareness can always be restored.

THE QUESTION PEOPLE ALWAYS ASK

Why no doctor.
Why no midwife.

The honest answer is that once I understood how birth actually works — the hormones, the fear-tension-pain cycle, what a body already knows how to do without being managed — having someone else in the room to manage it stopped feeling like safety. It started feeling like the opposite: one more voice telling me not to trust what I already felt.

That's the actual belief underneath Mau, and underneath everything I teach. Not that hospitals are wrong, or that every woman should choose what I chose — only that the choice should be real, made from full understanding, rather than from fear of what you were never taught. Most women are never even given the chance to ask the question.

SPEAKING & COLLABORATION

The kind of talk a room carries home

1 → 1,000s

One small gathering, grown into a community of thousands — built after starting over from nothing, more than once.

No stage taught me what leaving an abusive marriage taught me, or what giving birth at home, alone, taught me. You can read that story in full above — on stage, I bring what it left me with.

Nearly ten ventures since I was fourteen, plenty of failure, every one of them a lesson that raised me higher — and all of it led me to the work I care about most: the forgotten parts of a woman's body, undervalued in a world obsessed with career and ambition. Most speakers talk about mindset. I talk about what it actually feels like in the body — and about how many solutions exist just outside what any of us has been shown.

On stage, I help a room feel the difference between what the mind insists and what the body already knows — the same thread running through the community I've built from one small gathering into thousands of women, learning to trust what they feel over what they've been told to feel.

Available as a keynote, a workshop, or a longer session — shaped around the room, and what it needs.
