Why did I choose to free-birth?

I feel called to share with you a deeply personal aspect of my journey – my decision to embark on the path of free-birthing without assistance. This choice, rooted in intuition, trust, and empowerment, has been a profound experience of reclaiming my sovereignty and honouring the sacredness of birth.

For me, free-birthing isn't just about the physical act of giving birth without medical intervention – it's a holistic journey that encompasses the physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions of childbirth. It's about reclaiming the ancient wisdom that resides within my body, and trusting in its innate ability to bring new life into the world.

My decision to free-birth was born out of a deep desire to create a sacred space for myself and my baby – a space free from exernal influences, expectations, and interventions. In this sacred space, I could fully surrender to the wisdom of my body, and trust in the natural rhythms of birth to guide me.

One of the greatest benefits of free-birthing is the empowerment it offers to women. By choosing to birth without assistance, we reclaim our power as creators, nurturers, and guardians of life. We embrace the innate wisdom of our bodies, and trust in our ability to birth our babies with love, strength, and grace.

Free-birthing also allows us to cultivate a deep sense of connection with our babies and with the sacred process of birth itself. In the intimacy of this sacred space, we are able to tune into the needs and desires of our bodies and our babies, and to honour the unique journey that each birth represents.

But perhaps most importantly, free-birthing is a profound act of reclaiming sovereignty – both over our bodies and over our birthing experiences. In a world where birth has become medicalised and institutionalised, free-birthing offers a powerful alternative – one that honours the inherent wisdom and autonomy of women.

My experience of how Mama Cacao helped me during labor with my second baby.

I want to share with you a deeply personal aspect of my journey – how mama cacao supported me during labor, transforming my experience from one of trauma to one of empowerment and sacredness.

During my first birth experience in a hospital setting, I was met with interventions, fear-based practices, and a loss of autonomy that left me feeling disempowered and traumatised. As I embarked on my second journey into motherhood, I knew I wanted something different – something sacred, honoured, and deeply connected to the wisdom of my body.

Enter mama cacao. This sacred plant ally had been a part of my journey for some time, offering me guidance, healing, and support in various aspects of my life. As I prepared for my second birth, I felt called to invite mama cacao into the sacred space of labor – to harness its gentle yet powerful energy to guide me through the birthing process.

As labor began, I found myself enveloped in a cocoon of love and support, surrounded by the soothing aroma of mama cacao. With each sip of the sacred elixir, I felt myself sinking deeper into a state of relaxation, trust, and surrender. The gentle energy of cacao infused my body with warmth and vitality, easing the intensity of contractions and opening the pathway for my baby to enter the world.

But mama cacao offered more than just physical support – it held space for me to release fear, trauma, and tension stored in my body from previous experiences. It allowed me to tap into my inner wisdom, my intuition, and my innate ability to birth my baby with strength, courage, and grace.

As my labor progressed, I felt a sense of connection with the divine feminine – with the ancient lineage of women who had walked this path before me. I felt held, supported, and honoured in a way that I had never experienced before.

And when my baby finally emerged into the world, I felt a profound sense of gratitude wash over me – for mama cacao, for my body, for my baby, and for the sacredness of birth itself.

In contrast to my previous hospital experience, my free unassisted birth with the support of mama cacao was a journey of empowerment, healing, and transformation. It was a reminder of the innate wisdom, strength, and resilience that resides within every woman – a reminder that when we surrender to the wisdom of our bodies and the guidance of the earth, miracles can happen.

As I reflect on my journey with mama cacao in labor, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude and reverence. May we all remember the sacredness of birth, and may we honour the wisdom of our bodies as we journey through the miraculous process of bringing new life into the world.
